Hot Chai Tea

Right now, I’m making chai tea. Join me, won’t you?

Usually homemade chai tea calls for ingredients like cardamom and star anise, but since those aren’t regular residents in my cupboard, I made this using store-bought spiced chai and added some oomph to the flavor.

  • 25 whole cloves
  • 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 qts water
  • 6 spiced chai tea bags
  • 2 black orange tea bags
  • 2 regular black tea bags
  • 1/2 c sugar

  1. Add all ingredients except sugar to a 4-qt slow cooker. Set on LOW for 2-3, or until tea reaches desired strength.
  2. Remove tea bags, cloves, and cinnamon sticks. Stir in sugar to sweeten.

Super simple, and definitely a cozy warm treat on a cold winter night. Ladle into mugs and enjoy!
